Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘One Nation One Health Card’ scheme as part of the Digital Health Mission, presenting it to the nation from the Red Fort on August 15, 2020. This initiative, introduced on the 74th Independence Day, aims to provide every citizen with comprehensive health-related information through a unique health ID. Initially rolled out in six states, the scheme will eventually cover the entire nation. Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan stated that the initial phase will focus on six union territories, with plans to expand nationwide based on the outcomes observed in these regions.
