
Even in the 21st century, rabies remains highly prevalent in India, claiming thousands of lives annually. Leading medical organizations in the country are actively engaged in raising awareness and devising strategies tailored to the Indian context for rabies control. Efforts to promote the adoption of intradermal vaccination, aimed at reducing treatment costs and fatalities associated with rabies, are underway. Additionally, research endeavors are focused on developing effective antiviral drugs for the treatment of rabies.
